natday performance!


HELLO!!!


it has been a long long week, but we (the raffles dancers) have endured it and put up a FANTASTIC (from reviews) performance yesterday during the nat day concert. (: yay dancers! haha i'm really proud of what we've achieved over such a short time. it's been a difficult time, what with the late nights in addition to our schoolwork and @#$%^&* PW, but we've pulled through, turned the impossible possible and did our dance, seniors and choreo proud (: well done dancers. <3 you guys!!!


my eyebags have enlarged significantly, but who cares! hahaha yesterday was such a crazy day. the carnival was quite dead actually, the food wasnt that great but it was fun! haha the dancers went to mark our positions on the $8k stage after assembly just to make sure but for nothing, it rained at night -.- we were so dismayed! all the performers were just... :O the inevitable and the dreaded had happened! it was pourrrrrrrrring an hour before performance. we really couldnt believe our eyes.


but having the concert at the mph was fun too! i think it was better actually. i think the school didnt all turn up, cause we could squeeze both j1 and 2s into the mph. unbelievable! haha the audience was so responsive!!! we were really quite nervous before going on stage. i didnt even get a chance to warm up, cause we were so frazzled by the stupid rain. but the audience were unbelievable! haha they cheered so much, and i think that spurred on the performance even more. (: so its thanks to the audience too that we put up an awesome performance. its really, amazing, performing in front of the entire school, who were all on high. the emcee teacher was so funny! and yikai titus and shiyang too. (: if we had held the performance on the field, we would've been tiny people and no one would be able to see anything that we do. so actually, thank god it rained!


after our performance, we watched the rest of the concert at the back of the stage, and cheered for gym and street! MR was last for IHC -.- but nevermind. haha the end of the concert was so !!! we went back on stage to sing community songs, and we just got damn damn damn high. like jumping on stage and doing the fundance to the natday songs! and the people running about in the audience, throwing lightsticks. i threw a few too, and i saw a guy got hit. but he promptly threw one back, so haha we're even. the audience was jumping and dancing with us too. it was AHHH! i've never seen ... highness in the entire school, so together and... i dunno. it was just an amazing amazing concert (:


the carnival was quite dead though. haha shihui and i were walking around buying food, and we kept walking past the oh-so-sad guess a song booth by chengxuan julian and ryan teo. they are seriously the saddest boothowners ive ever seen. firstly, their laptop refuses to work. so they couldnt start the game. then, they decided to move their table, and left their poster behind. on an empty space. when their poster dropped, cx didnt even want to pick it up, eating his noodles instead. then! they got an ipod, which somehow wont work either!!! it was just hilarious, cause everytime we walked past, they would ask us to play, but somehow we wont be able to play, and they'd say COME BACK AGAIN! and julian would add, when you're bored.


this, is a perfect case of selfjacking. (:


thankyou to the dancers, for cooperating through this long tough time of late night practs and incessant drilling; zhengning and senghenk for our costumes, makeup and hair; wenjun and marese for their constant support; the seniors for their advice; our friends for their understanding when it comes to pw and work; the people at the windy benches for allowing us to disturb their peace every afternoon; the streeters for their cooperation during rehearsals; and the audience for completing this entire experience, making it magical.
